Asia Nails is trying to charge ne for a service that did not happen

Hi,

On Friday ast week i booked a nail appoinment at 9 am in Asia Nails in Gothenburg through bokadirekt. I arrived there at 8:55 and the place was completely closed. I looked up their opening hours and it says they open at 10 am. I called them at 9:58 am and no one answers. I wait until its 9:10 am and no one shows up and I leave. Try to get an appointment somewhere else at 10 am when most nail salons open. Now I got an invoice from them as a no show. I complained to bokadirekt and they took a look at my call log and said they spoke to Asia Nails and they say its a lie, that they opened at 9 am and I just didnt show up. They said that i should contact instead the consumer agency.

Is there some way to place a complain?

  • Thank you for your question!

The first thing you need to do is contact the company and point out the error. This is called making a complaint. Contact the company in writing, for example via email. Write that you booked a service but that you did not receive the service and describe the circumstances. The company must then correct the error. The company can, for example, do this by offering you a new appointment. If the company cannot correct the error, you can demand to cancel your contract.

If you cancel the contract, you should not pay the company. If you nevertheless receive an invoice from the company, you can choose to dispute the invoice. Disputing an invoice means that you protesting the invoice and will not pay. Explain why the invoice is incorrect and refer to your previous complaint. Dispute the invoice in writing. The company does not have to respond to your dispute for it to be valid. The important thing is that you can show that you disputed the invoice.

If the company thinks they are entitled to payment, the company needs to pursue the matter further. You can wait to see what the company does. If the company does not send any more demands, you do not need to do anything further.

  • Hi,

I don't see any mail to contact the company just a phone. Also, if they lied to bokadirekt i am thinking that they will also just tell me that I am lying, that i was not there even though I was there and everything was closed and turned off.

Should I call them? But then how do I get proof that I complained?
  • You may be able to find an email address on the company's website. It is enough to show that you sent your claims to an email address associated with the company. If you choose to speak to the company by phone or visit them, you can send an email afterwards to summarize the conversation and to prove that you contacted the company and made your claims.

If you and the company cannot agree, you can report your case to the Swedish National Board of Consumer Disputes (ARN).
